Egypt invests EGP 2.1B in water, sewage projects in Fayoum during 2022

Arab Finance: Holding Co for Water and Wastewater (HCWW) has invested EGP 2.107 billion in the development and upgrade of drinking water and wastewater treatment plants in Fayoum under the Hayah Karima initiative during 2022, according to a statement by the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities.

HCWW implemented several projects to boost the efficiency of the drinking water and wastewater treatment plants and networks in Fayoum at an estimated value of EGP 492 million, the company’s chairman Mamdouh Raslan revealed.

Projects have been implemented and are still being executed in the cities of Atsa and Youssef Al-Siddiq under the Hayah Karima program with EGP 1.615 billion in investments, in addition to, the sewage expansion project funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) at a value of €300 million to serve 57 villages, the HCWW’s head in Fayoum Mohamed El-Naggar stated.
