Egypt’s EEHC, French EDF pen MoU to boost electricity, renewable energy cooperation

Arab Finance: Egypt’s Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) has penned a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Electricite de France SA (EDF) to benefit from the firm’s expertise in various fields of electricity and green energy, the Egyptian ministry announced on September 6th.

The move came among the Ministry of Electricity’s measures taken to improve the quality of the service provided to citizens and upgrade the electricity network.

The Egyptian electricity sector has taken several measures to improve and upgrade the power grid, including setting a plan to establish 47 control centers at the electricity distributors across the country.

Moreover the a tender has been launched for installing around 530,000 smart meters as part of the second phase of the smart meters’ installment project.
