Arab Finance: Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated White Stone Egypt Mining’s $5 million calcium carbonate plant in the Sokhna Integrated Industrial Zone, part of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), as per a statement.

The 9,260-square-meter facility is located within the industrial development area operated by Red Sea Copper Company. It has an annual production capacity of 120,000 tons and is expected to create around 100 direct and 200 indirect jobs.

The plant manufactures and exports coated and uncoated calcium carbonate for use in plastics, paints, building materials, and other industries, according to White Stone Egypt Mining Chairman.

Madbouly said feeder industries that supply production inputs are central to improving Egyptian manufacturing competitiveness. He added that these industries support supply chains, improve final-product quality, lower manufacturing costs, and help meet demand from key sectors.

Expanding such activities also supports Egypt’s plans to establish an integrated production base capable of competing in regional and international markets, the prime minister said.

SCZONE Chairman Moustafa Shaikhon described the project as a strategic addition to the zone’s industrial base, noting that its output connects manufacturers operating across several sectors.

He added that SCZONE is seeking to attract more feeder industries to strengthen integration among industrial activities, stabilize supply chains, raise production efficiency, and improve the competitiveness of goods manufactured in the zone across domestic and international markets.
