SCZONE ranks 1st in Africa, 7th globally in fDi’s 2026 free zones awards

Arab Finance: The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) ranked first in Africa and seventh worldwide in the Global Free Zones of the Year Awards 2026, published by fDi Intelligence, a specialist publication of the Financial Times, as per a statement.

The awards received 79 submissions from free and economic zones worldwide. SCZONE’s ranking comes amid geopolitical challenges affecting the global economy and international investment flows.

The authority attributed the recognition to Egypt’s economic reforms and political stability, alongside its investment promotion efforts and implementation of a strategy to attract international capital, localize targeted industries, and create jobs for Egyptian youth.

SCZONE said its infrastructure and facilities, integration of ports with industrial zones, faster adoption of digital systems, and simplified investment services had supported its ambition to become a leading investment destination and an integrated center for industry and logistics.

The authority added that the ranking reflected international business confidence in Egypt’s investment climate and SCZONE’s investment offering.
