Arab Finance: Emirates NBD-Egypt has signed a cooperation protocol with the Egyptian Pollution Abatement Program (EPAP) to support industrial small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as per an emailed press release.

The protocol aims to ensure compliance with environmental laws, and reduce energy and resource consumption, by enhancing the application of environmentally sustainable practices to reduce costs, promote competitiveness, and achieve the principles of circular economy.

This is along with mitigating pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste, and maximizing natural resource exploitation.

“This collaboration underscores our commitment to driving positive environmental impact and signifies a pivotal step towards a more sustainable future,” the bank’s Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer Amgad Doma commented.

“The addition of Emirates NBD-Egypt to our cooperating banks’ list will reinforce EPAP outreach within SME industries and enlarge our footprint to share benefits of this Green Finance program with larger numbers of end-beneficiaries,” EPAP Director Hossam Ezzeldin said.
