NTRA orders telecom operators to offer free minutes to 6 Arab states amid regional tensions

Arab Finance: The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) ordered local mobile operators to grant subscribers free international minutes to six Arab countries, as per a statement.

Under the directives, each subscriber will receive five free international minutes to make calls to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.

The move aims to enable subscribers to check on relatives in these countries and maintain contact amid escalating tensions in the region.

Therefore, the NTRA is closely monitoring any regional developments and will take any necessary regulatory measures in coordination with telecom companies to ensure citizens continue to receive effective and secure mobile services.

Following drone attacks targeting US military bases and major civilian hubs across the Gulf region, EgyptAir suspended its flights from Cairo to 13 Middle Eastern cities until further notice.
