Arab Finance: Bel Egypt, the dairy products manufacturer behind brands including La Vache Qui Rit, Kiri, and Abu Al Walad, aims to raise the local content ratio of its packaging materials to 100% within the next two years as part of its efforts to localize production and support exports, as per an emailed press release.

The announcement came during a meeting held by Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid with French Ambassador to Egypt Eric Chevallier and executives from 22 major French companies operating in Egypt to discuss expansion plans, investment opportunities, and ways to enhance the business climate and increase exports.

During the meeting, Hany Arram, Country Manager of Bel Egypt and Northeast Africa, highlighted the company’s efforts to expand its reliance on local suppliers, noting that Bel Egypt has increased the localization rate of packaging materials to around 90%.

Aram said that Bel views Egypt as one of its key industrial hubs in the region, noting that investing in local manufacturing and national supply chains strengthens Egyptian industry competitiveness and creates added value for the national economy.

He added that the company is working with local partners to expand its supplier base and increase reliance on locally sourced components, supporting Egypt’s vision of deepening industrial localization.

Bel Egypt will continue investing in sustainability initiatives and supply chain development, aligning with its global strategy and Egypt’s goals for sustainable industrial growth, while supporting efforts to increase local content and strengthen exports.
