Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a mixed performance on Wednesday, with the EGX30 index dropping 0.16% to 54,822.66 points.
The Shariah index edged down by 0.18% to 6,639.47 points, while the EGX35-LV went up by 0.18% to 6,766.43 points.
The EGX70 index finished the session higher by 0.15% at 20,744.89 points. The EGX100 index added 0.27% to 27,252.91 points.
The EGX’s turnover reached EGP 10.009 billion through the exchange of 3.078 billion shares over 243,471 transactions, while market cap hit EGP 4.321 trillion.
Individuals controlled 80.33% of trading transactions, while institutions accounted for 19.66%.
Egyptians represented 91.22% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors made up 5.87% and 2.91%, respectively.
Egyptian traders were net buyers with EGP 245.099 billion. Arab and foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 141.833 million and EGP 103.266 million, respectively.
