Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a mixed performance on Wednesday, September 9.
The EGX30 index advanced 0.58% to close at 56,500.74 points, while the Shariah index gained 0.75% to reach 6,763.73 points.
Meanwhile, the EGX35-LV index fell 0.51% to 7,007.03 points. The EGX70 and EGX100 indices also closed lower, declining 0.31% to 21,334.92 points and 0.23% to 27,950.35 points, respectively.
Trading turnover reached EGP 12.476 billion, with 2.790 billion shares changing hands through 278,099 transactions. The EGX’s market capitalization stood at EGP 4.246 trillion.
Retail investors accounted for 77.78% of trading activity, while institutional investors represented the remaining 22.21%.
Egyptian investors dominated trading with an 89.02% share, followed by foreign investors at 7.97% and Arab investors at 3.01%.
Foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 57.445 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors recorded net purchases of EGP 56.238 million and EGP 1.206 million, respectively.
