Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX)closed Tuesday’s trading session in the red zone, with the EGX30 index down 0.80% to 56,174.3 points
The Shariah index declined by 0.72% to 6,713.49 points, while the EGX35-LV fell by 0.92% to 7,043.13 points.
Likewise, the EGX70 index and EGX100 index closed the session lower by 1.24% to 21,400.52 points and 0.98% to 28,015.7 points, respectively.
A total of 2.727 billion shares were exchanged at a value of EGP 13.369 billion over 290,661 transactions. Meanwhile, the market cap hit EGP 4.424 trillion.
Retail investors dominated 76.03% of trading transactions, while institutions accounted for 23.96%.
Egyptians controlled 88.35% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors represented 7.52% and 4.13%, respectively.
Arab and foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 19.327 million and EGP 200.828 million, respectively. Egyptian investors were buyers with EGP 220.156 million.
