Arab Finance: Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem discussed ways to strengthen industrial cooperation with Spain and attract additional Spanish investments to Egypt, according to a statement.

During a meeting with Spanish Ambassador to Egypt Sergio Román Carranza Förster, Hashem reviewed investment and industrial cooperation opportunities for Spanish companies in Egypt in the coming period.

He also affirmed the ministry’s efforts to attract Spanish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to invest in Egypt, allowing them to leverage the country’s competitive advantages and investment incentives.

Meanwhile, Förster reaffirmed Spain’s interest in strengthening industrial, trade, and investment ties with Egypt, describing the country as a key regional partner.

The ambassador stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to increase bilateral trade to levels that reflect the strength of relations between the two countries, particularly amid continued interest from Spanish companies in exploring cooperation opportunities with their Egyptian counterparts.

He added that more than 60 Spanish companies are currently operating in Egypt across several sectors, including cement, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and railways.
