Arab Finance: El Sewedy Cement Company increased its stake in Qalaa Holdings after buying 15 million shares for EGP 98.870 million, according to a bourse filing.
The cement manufacturer raised its shareholding in Qalaa Holdings to 3.10% from 2.747%.
The transaction was executed at an average price of EGP 6.590 per share.
Qalaa Holdings' shareholders recently approved the company's continuation despite registered losses, as the incurred losses exceeded half of shareholders' equity, as per the 2025 financial statement results.
In 2025, Qalaa Holdings suffered a consolidated net loss after minority interests of EGP 1.2 billion.
It is worth noting that Qalaa Holdings is an Egypt-based company engaged in private equity investment activities, managing an investment portfolio that spans various industrial sectors, including energy, cement manufacturing, mining, and metallurgy.
