Arab Finance: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Governor Hassan Abdalla to review key economic issues and measures to strengthen financial and monetary stability, according to a statement.
Talks addressed coordination between the government and the CBE to develop the national economic transformation program, highlighting efforts to curb inflation and increase dollar inflows to maintain adequate foreign exchange reserves and secure strategic commodity demands.
Both sides further reviewed efforts to strengthen strategic stocks of essential goods and key indicators of economic performance.
Discussions highlighted the continued increase in remittances from Egyptians abroad, which rose 28.1% year-on-year (YoY) to approximately $29.7 billion during January-July 2026, compared with $23.2 billion.
Remittances also increased 20% YoY to $4.5 billion in July 2026 from around $3.8 billion in July 2025.
