SCA eyes marine construction venture with Kenya’s Tunasco

Arab Finance: Timsah Shipbuilding Company, an affiliate of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), is considering establishing a specialized company for ports and marine construction in Kenya through a partnership with Kenyan firm Tunasco, according to a statement.

The plan aligns with the authority’s objectives to expand its presence in African markets, driven by the strategic partnerships linking Egypt with African nations, SCA Chairman Osama Rabie said.

Rabie highlighted the SCA’s readiness to support the development of Kenya’s maritime infrastructure by providing technical expertise across several areas, including port operations, marine construction, dredging, shipbuilding, and maritime training.

For his part, Tunasco's Chairman, Abdulwalli Shariff, expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with the SCA and leveraging its technical capabilities, human resources, and extensive experience in the maritime sector.
