Health Ministry, Novartis Egypt mull cooperation in healthcare services development

Arab Finance: Egyptian Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar held a meeting with representatives of the pharmaceutical firm Novartis Egypt to discuss ways to develop healthcare and medical services provided to citizens, according to a statement by the health ministry on February 16th.

Abdel Ghaffar stressed the ministry’s keenness to provide high-quality and comprehensive healthcare programs for citizens.

During the meeting, the officials discussed the upgrade of 251 healthcare units nationwide under the presidential initiative aiming at reducing mortality rates resulting from non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.

The two sides also discussed developing a plan to launch an initiative to preserve cardiovascular health, along with cooperation in launching awareness campaigns to introduce healthy and nutritional habits necessary to a healthy heart.
