Arab Finance: Egypt's draft labor law will be presented to the Supreme Council for Social Dialogue for discussions on Monday, May 13th, Minister of Labor Hassan Shehata announced in a statement.
The discussions, set to take place at the ministry’s General Office, will involve representatives from business owners, workers, ministries, and relevant authorities, Shehata said.
The minister also noted that the primary agenda clauses revolve around the draft labor law, aimed at regulating labor relations and ensuring job security for the estimated 30 million Egyptian workforce.
Provisions of the draft law are meant to be addressed to emphasize its applicability to all wage workers in Egypt, focusing on enhancing job security, fostering investment, and adapting to evolving work dynamics, he highlighted.
This initiative aligns with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to expedite the law's discussion and subsequent presentation to the House of Representatives for issuance.
