Cabinet agrees to exempt Cairo Opera activities from entertainment tax

Arab Finance: The Egyptian cabinet has agreed to exempt the activities organized by the General Authority for National Cultural Center (Cairo Opera House) in Cairo, Alexandria, and Beheira from the tax imposed earlier on entertainment activities, according to a statement on June 26th.

In addition, the authority was excluded from the cabinet’s decision on banning advertising, publishing, and rent expenses.

In May, the parliament ratified applying a tax of 5% to 20% on the entry of theatres, opera, parks, sport clubs, circus events, and other entertainment places.
