Egypt, Russia’s Rosspetsmash mull cooperation in agricultural machinery industry

Arab Finance: Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Al-Sayed El-Quseir has met with representatives of the Russian purpose-built machinery manufacturer Rosspetsmash to probe cooperation in the field of agricultural machinery industry, as per a statement on September 12th.
During the meeting, both sides agreed on the work mechanism by indicating the Egyptian market’s actual needs as well as the commitment of Rosspetsmash’s subsidiaries to present models of the needed agricultural machinery at some automated farming stations in Egypt.
Moreover, they drafted a cooperation protocol between the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and the Russian firm, along with discussing the importance of establishing a Russian agricultural machinery manufacturing zone in Egypt.
This aims to transfer the Russian expertise in this field to Egypt as well as make the latter a logistics center for the distribution of the firm’s products across Africa.
It is worthy to note that the Egyptian-Russian agricultural trade exchange rose 30% year on year (YoY) in 2022, Trade Representative of Russia in Egypt Alexey Tevanyan noted.
