Arab Finance: ADD Properties, a member of Sami Saad Holding, has signed a $265 million syndicated financing agreement to support a new Grand Hyatt hotel and reprofile its capital structure, as per a press release.
The 400-key property will overlook the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) and the Pyramids of Giza. The funding will also support efforts to consolidate asset value across the developer’s portfolio, which spans hospitality, branded residences, and real estate development.
Alongside the financing, technical assistance will support green building certification, hospitality skills development, and improvements to corporate governance.
“This milestone reflects the confidence of leading international, regional, and Egyptian financial institutions in Egypt’s investment potential and ADD Properties’ vision and track record. In alignment with Egypt Vision 2030, our growth strategy is built on sustainability, responsible investment, and long-term value creation," Bassel Sami Saad, Chairman of ADD Properties, said.
"Our new Grand Hyatt overlooking the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids of Giza embodies this commitment, combining world-class hospitality with sustainable development while celebrating Egypt’s timeless heritage and contributing to its tourism future,” Saad added.
It is worth noting that EFG Hermes, a subsidiary of EFG Holding, has acted as the sole financial advisor and bookrunner on the landmark syndicated financing package for ADD Properties.
