EGAS chief reviews Ain Sokhna polyethylene pipe factory

Arab Finance: Sayed Selim, Executive Managing Director at the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), inspected the company’s polyethylene pipe factory in Ain Sokhna, according to a statement.

The visit comes under directives from Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi to continuously monitor plans to reduce imports and support local components.

Selim reviewed the plant's production operations, as the facility supplies polyethylene pipes used in residential natural gas connection projects across Egypt.

EGAS executives and facility officials also discussed measures to boost production capacity to meet growing demand for natural gas infrastructure. The expansion supports EGAS efforts to accelerate the rollout of natural gas networks nationwide, particularly in rural communities under the government's Decent Life initiative.

Meanwhile, EGAS plans to launch a new gas exploration tender in 2026 across several blocks in the Western Mediterranean, along with the drilling of 17 exploratory wells during fiscal year (FY) 2026/2027.
