EGP slides as USD hits record amid Middle East tensions

Arab Finance: The US dollar surged past EGP 48.5 by mid-Sunday, hitting record levels against the Egyptian pound following the US-Israel attacks on Iran.

By 11:42 am, the USD hit  EGP 48.7 for purchasing and EGP 48.8 for selling at both Banque Misr and the Commercial International Bank Egypt (CIB).

At the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), the exchange rate between the USD and EGP hit EGP 48.55 for buying and EGP 48.65 for selling.

The US dollar traded at EGP 48.50 for buying and EGP 48.60 for selling at both Al Baraka Bank Egypt and the United Bank.
