Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) and MINT by EG Bank have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly support Egypt’s fintech ecosystem, according to a press release.
The MoU also aims to raise investment awareness among young people and entrepreneurs while expanding startups’ access to capital markets.
The partnership will leverage EGX’s capital market expertise and MINT by EGBANK’s role in supporting youth, entrepreneurship, and the development of Egypt’s startup ecosystem.
Under the agreement, the two parties will launch a joint program built around two main initiatives: the MINT×EGX hackathon and a series of specialised financial literacy training courses.
The hackathon will focus on investment and trading to encourage startups to develop advanced solutions that address the needs of Egypt’s capital market.
Meanwhile, the financial literacy program will cover financial independence, money management, and regulated investment mechanisms. It will also highlight the role of financial literacy in helping young people make accurate decisions, plan for long-term goals, and build financial stability.
Selected startups will access networking and mentorship opportunities with EGX, including guidance on relevant capital market requirements and regulations. This will allow participants to properly understand the regulatory framework, identify development opportunities, and explore potential avenues for growth and expansion.
