Egypt’s August net foreign assets hit highest since January 2020: CBE

Arab Finance: Net foreign assets (NFAs) of Egypt’s banking sector hit $31.2 billion in August 2026, marking the highest level recorded since January 2020, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) data.

Net foreign assets of commercial banks rose to $12.4 billion in August 2026. Meanwhile, assets of the CBE mounted to $18.8 billion during the same month.

At the end of July 2026, the NFAs jumped to EGP 1.454 trillion from EGP 900.545 billion a year earlier
