Arab Finance: Egypt plans to launch a dedicated investment fund for Egyptians living abroad next year, offering investment instruments designed to encourage expatriates to invest in the country, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk announced during the seventh annual Conference of Egyptians Abroad.
Kouchouk said the government is working to simplify subscription procedures, provide competitive returns, and introduce additional incentives for Egyptians abroad.
He added that the Ministry of Finance is cooperating with major domestic and international investment banks to accelerate the fund's launch, which is intended to create new investment opportunities for the Egyptian diaspora.
Beyond the fund, Kouchouk highlighted that his ministry is working with the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to launch an integrated digital platform that will enable users to establish companies easily, in the shortest possible time. The platform aims to encourage Egyptians abroad to invest in Egypt by allowing them to benefit from investment incentives, tax and customs facilitations, and opportunities across priority sectors.
The minister also said the government is expanding digital public services to make them more accessible for citizens inside and outside Egypt. As part of that effort, the Ministry of Finance is integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its services to simplify procedures and improve accessibility across multiple languages.
The ministry has launched a mobile application for real estate tax services, allowing users to complete processes, including property registration, tax return filing, exemption requests, and payments in any currency, making it easier for Egyptians abroad to access these services, Kouchouk said.
He added that a separate mobile application for real estate transactions is scheduled to launch this month as part of the government's tax facilitation program, which will also benefit Egyptians living overseas.
The minister said the ministry has established three specialized tax service centers to strengthen its customer service model, including one in New Cairo. He added that the government aims to introduce virtual meetings through these centers next year, enabling Egyptians abroad to receive guidance and clarification on tax-related services remotely.
