Hassan Allam Digital obtains NTRA’s nod for $400M data centers

Arab Finance: The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has licensed Hassan Allam Digital Infrastructure and Data Centre Solutions to establish and operate data centers, with initial investments of $400 million, according to a statement.

The company will build data centers in accordance with the highest international standards, with plans to expand and increase the volume of investments during the coming years to meet growing demands.

Hassan Allam Digital seeks to provide government institutions, the financial sector, and local and international companies with the latest cloud computing services.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) Raafat Hindy affirmed that the license reflects the state’s interest in developing the data center and cloud computing industry in Egypt, as it is one of the vital sectors supporting the digital economy.

He affirmed that the government is working to create an attractive investment and regulatory environment that contributes to attracting local and foreign investments in this industry.

The ministry is also cooperating with various authorities to prepare an integrated national strategy for data centers and cloud computing, aimed at enhancing digital sovereignty.

For his part, Mahmoud Magdy, Senior Regional Commercial Director at Hassan Allam Holding, said the group will leverage its strategic partnership with A15, a regional venture capital (VC) and technology fund, to create a platform capable of keeping pace with future digital needs.

The project aims at advancing Egypt's cloud computing and AI capabilities, anchoring the country’s position as a leading regional center for technology, innovation, and digital services.
