Arab Finance: Egypt’s national rural development initiative Haya Kaima, also known as Decent Life, won the Dubai International Award for Best Practices in Sustainable Development in Urban Infrastructure Planning and Management on the sidelines of the World Government Summit 2026, held in Dubai from February 3rd to 5th, as per a statement.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said the presidential initiative represents one of the most important national projects launched in recent decades.
He explained that Haya Karima targets improving living standards for more than 60 million citizens across over 4,500 villages in rural Egypt.
He added that the first phase includes more than 27,300 service and development projects spanning multiple sectors, implemented across 1,447 villages in 52 centers within 20 governorates, benefiting around 20 million citizens.
Preparations are currently underway for the second phase, which will cover an additional 1,667 villages, starting with infrastructure works to extend the reach of the initiative and reinforce comprehensive development across new areas of the country.
