Under the agreement, delivery workers employed by talabat’s contracted logistics providers will be registered in the Ministry of Labor’s database for informal workers, enabling them to access government support and compensation programs.

part of the ministry’s efforts to implement the outcomes of the Egypt Forum 2026, with expanding social protection for informal workers identified as a strategic priority for the coming period.

It also supports the ministry’s plans to expand its database of informal workers and increase the number of beneficiaries receiving social and healthcare assistance, particularly among vulnerable groups.

The initiative covers delivery personnel working through logistics companies contracted by talabat, a Dubai-based online delivery platform, to transport goods and products from producers and retailers to customers across Egypt.

As part of the protocol, the ministry will register eligible delivery workers in dedicated databases for informal employment, while the Emergency Aid, Social, and Health Services Fund for Irregular Workers will provide financial assistance, grants, and compensation for specified circumstances.

These benefits include compensation for death or total or partial disability resulting from workplace accidents, as well as support in cases of natural death or total or partial disability unrelated to work.

Additional assistance will be available following the death of a first-degree relative or when workers undergo major or minor surgical procedures.

The protocol also provides a one-time marriage grant and financial support for the birth of a first or second child or twins, subject to the applicable regulations and decisions governing these benefits.

The cooperation falls within the Ministry of Labor’s mandate to develop employment policies, oversee informal labor activities, and improve workers’ welfare. It also supports the government’s broader efforts to strengthen social protection, address occupational risks, and improve living standards among informal workers.
