EGX’s indices close Tuesday mixed

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a varied note, with the EGX30 index going down by 0.87% to 30,654.92 points.

On the other hand, the Sharia-compliant index, EGX33 Shariah index, rose by 0.21% to 3,262.41 points.

Both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index ended the session lower by 0.96% at 8,635.15 points and by 0.59% to 11,904.2 points, respectively.

EGX’s turnover reached EGP 3.779 billion through the exchange of 1.367 billion shares over 97,708 transactions, while the market capitalization hit EGP 2.270 trillion.

Individuals accounted for 77.46% of the total trading, while the institutions represented the remaining 22.53%.

Egyptian investors controlled 90.31% of trading transactions, while Arab and foreign traders made up 4.9% and 4.79%, respectively.

Non-Arab foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 89.606 million and EGP 56.262 million, respectively. Meanwhile, the Egyptian traders were buyers with EGP 145.868 million.
