Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a mixed performance on Wednesday, with the EGX30 index adding 0.45% to 55,679.72 points.
The Shariah index edged up by 0.11% to 6,566.37 points, while the EGX35-LV went up by 0.08% to 6,932.34 points.
The EGX70 index finished the session lower by 0.44% at 21,225.15 points. The EGX100 index added 0.03% to 27,744.78 points.
The EGX’s turnover reached EGP 15.129 billion through the exchange of 3.422 billion shares over 334,221 transactions, while the market cap hit EGP 4.380 trillion.
Individuals controlled 77.95% of trading transactions, while institutions accounted for 22.04%.
Egyptians represented 90.3% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors made up 7.21% and 2.49%, respectively.
Foreign traders were net buyers with EGP 194.599 billion. Egyptian and Arab traders were net sellers with EGP 174.147 million and EGP 20.452 million, respectively.
