Cabinet announces May 4th as Labor Day holiday

Arab Finance: Egypt’s public sector employees will be off on Thursday, May 4th, to commemorate the Labor Day, according an official decree issued by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly published in the official gazette.

The decision covers employees and workers in ministries, government authorities, municipalities, and public sector companies.

The occasion falls on Monday, May 1st, but the government said in 2020 it would move all mid-week vacation days, with the exception of Eid Al-Fitr, Eid Al-Adha, and Coptic Christmas, to the end of the week, in order to give workers the chance to enjoy a long weekend.
