Mashroo’ak initiative carries out 204,000 projects with EGP 26.2B in investments

Arab Finance: The National Program for Community, Human, and Local Development (Mashrou’ak) has executed 204,000 projects since its launch in 2015, with total loans amounting to over EGP 26.2 billion, Minister of Local Development Hesham Amna stated on May 10th.

The projects have created 1.6 million job opportunities all over the country, the minister noted.

In April, Mashroo’ak participated in the implementation of 700 projects, with a total of EGP 200 million in loans, which contributed to offering around 9,300 jobs, he added.

Amna declared that Minya topped the country’s governorates in terms of the number of projects executed within the initiative, with 22,900 projects financed with EGP 2.8 million. The projects provided more than 158,000 job opportunities.

Sohag came in second position with funds worth EGP 2.8 million for 21,600 projects, creating 152,600 job opportunities.

The minister said that the initiative’s coming phase would focus on the quality of projects and services in order to support high-tech projects, with the aim of producing value-added projects.
