Arab Finance: Egypt has revised closing times for shops, restaurants, and cafes during the holy month of Ramadan and the Eid El-Fitr holiday of the Hijri year 1447, Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad announced.
Under the decision, shops, malls, restaurants, cafes, and bazaars will be allowed to operate daily until 2 am throughout Ramadan and the Eid El-Fitr holiday.
Restaurants and cafes will be allowed to run delivery and takeout services around the clock.
Supermarkets, groceries, bakeries, and pharmacies are excluded from this decision.
Workshops located in residential areas must close their doors by 10:00 pm during this period, with an exception for those on highways and filling stations.
The decision will take effect from Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, and will remain in force until the end of the Eid El-Fitr holiday.
