Arab Finance: Orange Egypt and medical services management company CarePoint have signed a strategic partnership agreement to accelerate pharmacies' digital transformation and support the development of Egypt’s healthcare sector, according to an emailed press release.
Under the agreement, CarePoint’s pharmacy management system will be integrated with Orange Egypt’s telecommunications, internet, and digital business solutions. The combined package will allow pharmacies to manage sales, medication dispensing, inventory, products, stock levels, reports, customer data, and other core operations through a connected digital ecosystem.
Orange Egypt will offer the system through customizable packages designed around each pharmacy’s size, operating model, and requirements. Pharmacies can select the telecommunications, internet, and digital services that match their current stage of digital transformation and expand them as their operational needs evolve.
Combining the services within a single package is intended to simplify pharmacies’ transition to digital systems and reduce their reliance on multiple service providers. The solution will also give pharmacy managers clearer visibility into operational performance, inventory levels, and product movement, supporting more informed decisions and faster service for customers and patients.
Mohamed Shebl, Chief Business Officer at Orange Egypt, said the agreement supports the company’s efforts to broaden its portfolio of digital business solutions, particularly in healthcare. He explained that combining Orange Egypt’s connectivity and digital capabilities with CarePoint ’s pharmacy management technology would help pharmacies improve their operations and derive greater value from digitization.
Shebl added that effective digital transformation requires solutions built around the operational requirements of individual sectors. He said the partnership advances Orange Egypt’s healthcare digitization strategy, supports businesses in adapting to market and customer needs, and contributes to the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030.
Michael Mounir, Chief Technology and Artificial Intelligence Officer at CarePoint, said the collaboration would make digitization more accessible and effective for pharmacies of different sizes by bringing specialized technology together with reliable digital infrastructure.
He added that CarePoint seeks to convert operational data and routine processes into useful information that supports stronger decisions and measurable results. The resulting scalable ecosystem is designed to help pharmacies improve service quality, manage growth, and prepare for changing market requirements.
CarePoint already uses data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) to transform pharmacies’ operational data into insights and performance indicators. These capabilities are intended to improve efficiency, strengthen decision-making, and support sustainable growth.
Mohammed Abdelaal, Director of Digital Health Services at Orange Egypt, said pharmacies represent an important part of the healthcare ecosystem and the patient journey. Providing them with connected digital tools can improve operational efficiency, service quality, and the experiences of customers and patients, he added.
Abdelaal said the package would serve pharmacies of different sizes, covering daily management requirements while enabling greater use of data and analytics to assess performance and guide decisions. He added that the agreement creates a foundation for introducing a broader portfolio of digital services for pharmacies.
Sally Ashraf, Head of Digital Transformation at CarePoint, said the company developed its solutions around pharmacies’ daily workflows and operational requirements. The tools are designed to help pharmacies run their businesses more efficiently, monitor performance, and improve the services delivered to customers and patients.
Ashraf added that the next stage of pharmacy management would extend beyond automating routine tasks toward creating data-driven operations. CarePoint plans to use advanced analytics and AI capabilities to provide clearer operational insights, optimize inventory and performance, support decision-making, and enable more efficient and personalized customer and patient experiences.
