Arab Finance: Carpet manufacturer Oriental Weavers participated in Heimtextil 2026, an international trade fair for interior textiles and design, held from January 13th to 16th in Frankfurt, Germany, as per a press release.

The company was the largest carpet exhibitor at the event, which brought together exhibitors from more than 50 countries.

Through its participation, Oriental Weavers aimed to strengthen relationships with international industry partners and present its latest products to global markets.

The group sent a delegation of 150 professionals to the exhibition, drawing on its vertically integrated operations, manufacturing capabilities, and workforce to address evolving market requirements across the carpet and textile sector.

During the exhibition, Oriental Weavers’ Saqqara Collection was selected for display in the Future Floor pavilion, which focuses on new approaches to rug design.

"For Oriental Weavers, Heimtextil 2026 provides a strategic platform to demonstrate our global leadership and strengthen key international partnerships. By exporting to over 118 countries worldwide, including Europe as one of our core markets, we continue to drive the growth of Egypt’s textile industry, showcase the strength of our heritage-based craftsmanship, and deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of global markets," Chair of Oriental Weavers, Yasmine Khamis, stated.

The company also participated in Architonic’s panel discussion, “The Golden Thread: From Handcrafted Heritage to Global Production,” where Hany Amin, international business director at Oriental Weavers, discussed industry challenges, heritage-based design approaches, and the use of artificial intelligence to support operational efficiency.

Oriental Weavers’ international presence has also contributed to the growth of Egyptian carpet exports to Germany.

In 2015, exports reached approximately €20.7 million, reflecting a 23% increase, highlighting the role of international trade fairs such as Heimtextil in supporting export growth.

The group employs more than 19,000 people across 28 factories in Egypt and the US and produces over 150 million square meters of carpet annually.

It operates more than 260 showrooms in Egypt, sells an average of 48 carpets per minute, and exports to over 118 countries. Its design archive includes more than 4.5 million carpet designs.
