Telecom Egypt eyes higher revenues in 2027 budget

Arab Finance: The board of Telecom Egypt has approved its 2027 budget, projecting revenue growth in the low double digits, alongside an EBITDA margin in the low to mid-forties, according to a bourse filing.

The key performance indicators (KPIs) also include an in-service capital expenditure (capex)-to-sales ratio in the mid-twenties and a positive free cash flow (FCFF)-to-EBITDA ratio in the low to mid-forties.

Tamer El Mahdi, Managing Director and CEO, commented: "We expect revenue to keep rising on the back of healthy demand. In retail, network upgrades will drive higher usage and migration to higher-speed packages.”

“Beyond retail, growing demand for cloud and Al services is increasing the need for international capacity and hosting infrastructure, strengthening our role as a key hub for global traffic and supporting the expansion of our data center business,” he added.

“Our capex is aligned with our strategic priorities and long-term growth ambitions. Advancing our fiber-to-the-home rollout and strengthening our network will drive growth and improve service quality for years to come. We expect to fund this investment while converting more of our EBITDA into free cash flow.”

In the first half (H1) of 2026, the consolidated net profits attributable to the shareholders of Telecom Egypt rose by 46.68% to EGP 15.266 billion from EGP 10.407 billion in H1 2025.
