Egypt’s exports to East Asia up 15.9% YoY in 2022

Arab Finance: The value of Egypt’s exports to East Asian countries grew by 15.9% year on year (YoY) to $7.7 billion in 2022, versus $6.6 billion, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced.

Meanwhile, the value of the country’s imports from East Asia came in at $26.8 billion last year, up 3.9% YoY from $25.8 billion.

South Korea was the largest East Asian importer of Egyptian goods in 2022, with Egyptian exports to South Korea amounting to $2 billion, up by 220% from $0.6 billion in 2021.

China was ranked first among the East Asian exporters to Egypt as the North African country's imports from China hit $14.42 billion last year, increasing by 0.2% from $14.4 billion in 2021.
