Arab Finance: Egyptian mobility startup ARRW has bagged a $4 million investment from Tasheed Egypt, providing new capital to support the company's operational and technology development plans.
The investment will be directed toward expanding ARRW's driver network, upgrading its technology infrastructure, and enhancing the user experience across the platform. The company is also allocating resources toward strengthening its operational capabilities as it expands its services.
Founded by Ahmed Taalab, ARRW operates in Egypt's ride-hailing market and describes itself as the country's first licensed ride-hailing platform. The company said it currently serves more than 200,000 users.
The funding comes as Egypt's transportation sector continues to incorporate digital platforms into everyday mobility. Growing smartphone adoption and demand for app-based transportation services have contributed to the expansion of ride-hailing and other technology-enabled mobility offerings across the country.
Within this market, local operators have increasingly focused on building services tailored to local transportation patterns and regulatory requirements. ARRW has positioned itself as a domestically developed platform serving Egyptian cities.
According to ARRW, the latest funding will help support the continued development of its platform as it scales its operations across the country.
