Egypt sets $15 fee for entry, transit visas from January 2027

Arab Finance: Egypt will impose a new fee of $15, or its equivalent in foreign currency, on each entry and transit visa issued at the country’s ports of entry, starting January 1, 2027, under Prime Ministerial Decree No. 2553 of 2026, published in the Official Gazette.

The fee will also apply to visas and certain consular services provided by Egyptian diplomatic embassies and consulates abroad, replacing any conflicting provisions under previous regulations.

The move comes as Egypt works to streamline and develop entry procedures for tourists, including through expanded digital services for visa issuance and arrival procedures.
