Arab Finance: The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade is exploring the development of a national digital platform with Advances Telecom to help consumers find and access goods through the Carry On project, as per a statement.
Minister of Supply Sherif Farouk met with company representatives to review proposed technological solutions and the firm’s plans for the platform, which would connect suppliers, retail outlets, and consumers.
The proposed system would allow shoppers to check product availability and locate everyday necessities more easily, reducing the time and effort involved in shopping. It would also support Carry On’s role as a national framework for improving access to consumer goods.
By strengthening links between participants and reducing the number of intermediaries, the platform aims to improve distribution efficiency and help products reach consumers more quickly and consistently.
Implementation is planned in phases across several governorates, with the pace determined by the project’s requirements and operational readiness. Results from each phase would guide service improvements and subsequent expansion.
Alongside its consumer services, the platform would help track commodity availability and provide information to support operations and decision-making.
The discussions form part of the ministry’s broader efforts to digitize domestic trade and modernize services. Participants emphasized the role of technology in developing Carry On and improving the efficiency of services provided to citizens.
Advances Telecom was represented by Managing Director Yasser Azzam, Chairperson Salma Tarek, and Chief Information Officer Waseem Al-Rashidi.
