Arab Finance: Egypt’s trade exchange with China jumped 21.5% year-on-year (YoY) to $11.3 billion in the first half (H1) of 2026, up from $9.3 billion, according to data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
Egyptian exports to China surged 199.8% YoY to $840.8 million in H1 2026 from $280.5 million, while imports increased 14.3% YoY to $10.4 billion from $9.1 billion.
As for remittances, Egyptians working in China transferred $23.3 million during the fiscal year (FY) 2024/2025, up from $19.5 million in FY 2023/2024.
Meanwhile, the remittances from Chinese workers in Egypt rose to $3.5 million in FY 2024/2025 from $3.1 million in the previous FY.

Mostafa Ibrahim, Vice Chairman of the China Committee at the Egyptian Businessmen's Association (EBA), previously highlighted that Chinese investments in Egypt during H1 2026 are estimated at between $1.5 billion and $2 billion.
On the sidelines of the “Export to China” event, Egypt signed 17 export contracts worth an estimated $168 million with Chinese companies to boost Egyptian exports to China.
