Arab Finance: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has directed relevant authorities to accelerate the development of Egypt’s civil aviation system by modernizing airport infrastructure, improving operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and security, according to a statement.
The developments are expected to improve the competitiveness of Egyptian airports regionally and internationally while strengthening private sector participation in their management and operation.
For his part, Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny reviewed the ministry's plans to reinforce Egypt's position on the global aviation map.
The meeting also reviewed the strategic vision and the implementation progress of Terminal Building No. 4 at Cairo International Airport.
El-Hefny noted that the project aims to build a new passenger terminal with a capacity of approximately 40 million passengers annually, supporting the state’s goals to transform Egypt into a major regional hub for aviation, transportation, and logistics services.
President El-Sisi also directed the government to foster strategic partnerships and attract additional foreign direct investment (FDI) into the civil aviation sector by developing integrated investment zones around Egyptian airports.
