Arab Finance: The Future Hospitality Summit (FHS) Egypt will bring investors, developers, hotel operators, and government leaders to the Sofitel Downtown Cairo Nile on November 10 and 11 to examine investment opportunities across the country’s hospitality, tourism, and real estate sectors, as per a press release.
Held under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, the summit will run under the theme “Where Heritage Inspires Investment.” Its agenda will cover hotel development, financing, destination development, branded residences, sustainability, and changes shaping Egypt’s tourism and property markets.
The event comes as Egypt leads Africa’s hotel development pipeline, with 185 planned hotels comprising 45,984 rooms, equivalent to 37.1% of the continent’s total, according to figures cited in the summit announcement. Egypt’s pipeline grew 35.5% year-on-year, while 53 new hotel deals were signed in 2025.
Tourism figures provide further context for that development activity. According to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Egypt received nearly 19 million tourists in 2025, up 21% from 2024. The government expects approximately 20 million arrivals in 2026. UN Tourism also reported a 3% year-on-year rise in international tourist arrivals during the first half of 2026.
For the Ministry of Housing, the summit’s agenda connects with its wider work on urban development. Randa Al-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, said: “As Egypt continues to advance its urban development agenda and invest in the infrastructure and integrated communities that underpin sustainable economic growth, there is a growing opportunity to further unlock the potential of the tourism, hospitality and real estate sectors. Our vision extends beyond developing physical infrastructure to creating integrated destinations that are attractive to investors, businesses and communities alike. We are pleased to support the Future Hospitality Summit in Egypt, which provides an important platform for strengthening public-private sector dialogue, showcasing emerging investment opportunities, and fostering partnerships that can contribute to the sustainable development of Egypt’s tourism and urban landscape.”
FHS Egypt will offer participants access to market intelligence and opportunities to meet potential investment and development partners. Ali Shahid, CEO of The Bench, outlined the thinking behind the event: “Egypt is entering an important new chapter for hospitality investment, with an expanding development pipeline, growing tourism demand and a market that is increasingly attracting international capital, developers and hotel operators. FHS Egypt was created to bring these stakeholders together in one focused environment where opportunities can move from discussion to partnerships and investment. We invite investors, developers, owners, operators and industry leaders from Egypt and international markets to join us on 10–11 November and be part of the conversations and connections shaping the country’s next generation of hospitality destinations.”
