Madbouly reviews Cisco’s AI, cybersecurity expansion plans in Egypt

Arab Finance: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Chuck Robbins, CEO of Cisco Systems, to discuss expanding the company’s investments and operations in Egypt, according to a statement.

Madbouly stressed the need to leverage the company’s global expertise in developing communications, information technology (IT), artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity.

The meeting addressed scaling Cisco’s training and capacity-building programs in Egypt, particularly initiatives designed to equip the youth with advanced digital skills and international technology certifications.

For his part, Robbins expressed the group's keenness to explore new areas of collaboration in the coming phase, outlining opportunities for cooperation with Egypt to establish innovation centers, as well as collaboration in addressing cybersecurity risks associated with AI technologies and models.

He also explored the possibility of developing AI-based applications and leveraging Cisco's global expertise in this field.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi said Cisco has been a strategic partner for Egypt since establishing its local office, contributing to several national digital transformation projects and development initiatives.
