Arab Finance: Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA) has signed a cooperation agreement with MAC for Mobility Manufacturing to provide electrical and mechanical training for young people and improve their prospects of employment with the automotive manufacturer, as per an emailed press release.

The academy, affiliated with Elsewedy Electric Foundation, will work with the Mansour Automotive Group subsidiary under its Training for Employment approach. Training will focus on practical skills tailored to MAC’s operations and broader workforce demand.

The agreement comes as Egypt pursues greater industrial localization. The government’s National Employment Strategy targets 6 million manufacturing jobs by 2030, while the automotive sector now has 27 operating factories and has introduced the Automotive Industry Development Programme (AIDP).

“Our partnership with MAC for Mobility Manufacturing reflects our strategic approach to connecting the outcomes of technical education directly with real production lines. As Egypt moves toward increasing the local content ratio in the automotive industry to 60%, the sector's need for specialized technical talent capable of understanding technological complexities and managing the precise integration of electrical and mechanical systems continues to grow. This extends from the manufacturing of wiring harnesses and control systems to precision mechanical components. At STA, we rely on the dual education system and intensive hands-on training to provide our students with this practical understanding early on, enabling them to become active contributors to deepening local manufacturing as soon as they enter an advanced industrial environment such as MAC,” Hanan ElRihany, CEO of STA, said.
