CBE cancels MPC meeting scheduled for March 28th

Arab Finance: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has decided to cancel the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 28th, as per the central bank's website.

This decision comes in the wake of the deemed adequacy of the special MPC meeting held on Wednesday, March 6th, when the CBE decided to hike the interest rates by 600 basis points (bps).

The MPC asserts its commitment to maintaining a restrictive monetary stance until inflation is firmly anchored while monitoring economic indicators to ensure a balanced approach between price stability and economic growth.
