El-Molla partakes in Gastech 2023 conference in Singapore
Updated 9/6/2023 1:21:00 PMArab Finance: Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El-Molla participated in the strategic ministerial session of the Gastech 2023 conference in Singapore, the Egyptian ministry stated on September 6th.
During the session, a number of petroleum and energy ministers discussed the role of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in empowering the global energy industry.
Nigerian Minister of State for Gas Ekperikpe Ekpo, Indonesian Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bapak Ariadji, and Secretary General of the International Energy Forum (IEF) Joseph McMonigle participated in the session.
El-Molla confirmed that natural gas is the best source of energy to be used during the transitional phase into a greener environment.
On the sidelines of Gastech, El-Molla met with former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, along with a number of heads of international oil and gas firms.
Johnson stressed that the currently witnessed challenges in the economic and geopolitical climate make it imperative for governments to deal with the challenges of climate change on one hand while handling the increasing demand for energy.
He also indicated that the upcoming winter season will witness high inflation rates and uncertainty around energy prices.
