The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has issued new technical and regulatory measures to curb spam calls as of Sunday, August 24th.

WiFi calling services, which allow users to make voice calls over internet connections instead of traditional mobile networks, will become available in the Egyptian market by next week.

The four telecommunication companies operating in Egypt have signed new agreements to improve the quality of services across the country.

The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has officially launched the eSIM technology in Egypt, following the completion of necessary technical tests by the country’s four mobile operators.

Egypt is expected to begin operating the eSIM service within two months, Minister of Communication and Information Technology Amr Talaat said.
