Arab Finance: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to discuss various bilateral, regional, and international issues, as per a presidency statement.

This came on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, taking place from October 22nd to 24th in Kazan, Russia.

For his part, Putin emphasized the importance of Egypt’s participation as a member of the bloc.

“Egypt’s membership adds value to the grouping's efforts and contributes to strengthening its role as a platform for promoting multilateral cooperation among developing countries,” Putin noted.

On the other hand, El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s keenness to engage within the Brics’ framework and appreciation for participating in the bloc’s annual summit.

El-Sisi also stressed Egypt's interest in bolstering relations with Russia not only at the multilateral level but also at the bilateral level across various fields, banking on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement sealed between the two countries in 2018.

The meeting also touched upon a range of regional and international issues.
