Egypt procures 3.4M tons of local wheat so far

Arab Finance: Egyptian Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has received 3.4 million tons of local wheat from farmers during the current harvest season so far, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade stated on June 11th.

The current harvest season runs from mid-April until the end of August.

The ministry has dedicated 5.5 million tons of storage capacities for the 2023 wheat supply season.

On April 12th, the cabinet approved an additional incentive to supply wheat from farmers for the 2023 season, bringing the price of wheat to EGP 1,500 per ardeb of 23.5 carats
