Egypt’s strategic wheat reserve sufficient for 4.7 months: Moselhy

Arab Finance: Egypt’s strategic reserve of wheat is sufficient for 4.7 months, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Moselhy stated on August 14^th.

The country’s strategic reserve of sugar is sufficient for domestic consumption until April, while the cooking oil reserve is sufficient for 4 months, Moselhy said.

Regarding the seeds needed for strategic crops, the minister noted that the country produced 140,000 tons of wheat seeds, covering 70% of the domestic need.

He added that the country met the domestic need for seeds this year, with the extra amount to be exported.
